FRENCH 75 BAR
The French 75 was a huge WWI
artillery gun that packed a wallop. According
to cocktail lore, a Franco American fighter
pilot who was in need of a little kick in his bubbly to bolster his
bravery, mixed cognac with his champagne and Viola! The French
75 Champagne Cocktail was born.
The L&E French 75 Champagne cocktail
is made with Marie Framboise, a cognac distilled with raspberry
juice, and then finished with a lemon twist.
Nightly, behind the marble topped bar,
Chester native and mixologist Peter Marshall serves dinner, cocktails
and his special Martinis to a loyal following.
The L& E wine list is diverse,
representing value and hard to find bottling from as far away as
Uruguay and as close as Stonington, CT and has the most extensive
selection of William Selyem wines to be found on the East Coast.
