Holy cow! You have the patience of a saint.

We LOVE the light fixtures. And pretty much everything else. We brought my 90-year-old, very well travelled father-in-law to L&E when he was visiting from Santa Barbara last month, and he was a little uneasy because he was a long time fan of the old du Village & boon buddy of Charlie's. He was absolutely delighted with L&E and didn't even leave a crumb behind.

Mr. M can stay away; he won't be missed. More room for the rest of us.

Thanks for sharing that, it made me laugh because it seemed so ridiculous....but then I felt sad for that poor sap. What a way to go through life.

Came to your blog to thank you for providing such a wonderful sanctuary. I had never been to Chester, was up there working on a food show, and my virgin visit included a trip to your glorious establishment. The housemade chips and boursin sinful, the burger was amazing and to wash it down with Chocolate Block wine! Perfection. The bartender could not have been nicer. The perfectly propped decor transported me to a cozy chateau in France. That cat! Holy Merde! Where did you find all that wonderfulness!! Especially loved the flatware chandeliers, being a tabletop prop stylist they really spoke to me. SO clever. All in all the only thing I would change is the location...COME OPEN ONE BY ME! Stamford is too far for dinner three times a week, but I plan on bringing my husband up for a romantic weekend soon.
MERCI! and God Bless Mr. M and all who cross his miserable path.

Linda,

I think I know that guy!

Isn't he what the scientists call a "black hole" where all light and matter implodes on itself?

Ed

Eileen and I were there last Wed. Missed you.

Linda,

My wife, daughter and I enjoyed our first "burger night" last night at L&E. Our lovley waitress told us a little about Mr. M and suggested that we read the blog. It was great as were the burgers! Thanks for having the gluten free rolls

I actually laughed out loud as I read that story, the most insane things happen when you lease expect it in this business, people are so unpredictable. I could write a ten chapter book of these kinds of stories, I thought that kind of bizarro-land stuff only happened to me.Keep the stories coming! Please.
