Points d’amour

Welcome to the inaugural posting of the blog Love and Eating. At L&E they work so you will believe, as they do, that eating, like love, should not be done carelessly, or out of sheer need, but with wonder, devotion, and every so often total abandonment. The season is short. Begin with points d’amour. From the roof deck you can peer through a single twentieth-century nine-over-nine window, which no longer opens, into the small rooms above the bar.

What might a slice of honey moon taste like? Upstairs that night: toasted almond butter cake made with Tuscan acacia honey, strawberry and black pepper chantilly, crème fraîche ice cream, and a Jurançon moelleux, Ballet d’Octobre, Domaine Cauhapé, 2011.
